Aer Lingus EI118 – Delayed 24 hours…so far
Just met some of the EI118 passengers in Dulles Airport (IAD). They’re on their third trip to the airport, having failed to depart yesterday evening as planned. They were initially left on the plane on the tarmac for five hours yesterday.
This afternoon, they were brought back to the airport and put on a plane to New York (JFK), only for that to be delayed by an hour, meaning they were going to miss the connecting flight from JFK. They were taken off that plane then. So, they’re still here. They’re hoping to get out tonight.
Not only that, but the flight was carrying such luminaries as Bryan “Dobbo” Dobson (who bizarrely has a Bebo page – not that he ever logs in to it) and his Six One production team. RTÉ is outraged, I’m sure.
I would’ve flown Aer Lingus had they had a Saturday DC/Dublin flight. I’m somewhat glad I ended up with KLM/Air France now – even if I had to transfer through Amsterdam (AMS) (one of the world’s nicer airports) on the way out and Paris (CDG) (one of Europe’s less-nice airports) on the way back.
