The European Super Army (of bloggers)
Proof, tomorrow, if more were needed, that the European Commission is intent on taking over the world with its evil minions. Or not.
The European Commission office in Ireland and IrishElection are hosting a seminar on Social Media and Blogging in EU House tomorrow, and I’ll be there. This year’s conference is entitled Organise, Activate, Influence: Social Activism Online in Ireland.
Guest speakers include King of the Irish Interweb, Mulley; EU Commissioner for Institutional Relations & Communications Strategy, and Party of European Socialists big-wig, Margot Wallstrom; and the great Zack Exley (who George W Bush called a “garbage man”, and who influenced Bush to decide that “There ought to be limits to freedom” – thanks, Zack, that worked out great 😉 ).
I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Zack Exley again. I’ve worked with him in the past on political campaigns, and the last time I saw him in the flesh was with Tom Matzzie – the three of us falling out of The Foggy Dew at 3am one Saturday morning about two and a half years ago. Now, Philippe did mention some free drinks this time…
